The original of the cotton textile industry, the largest single industry in the country. In India, cotton has had a pride of place among cash crops from the earliest times. At present, the area under cotton crop is over 8 million hectares. Cotton can be recycled from pre-consumer (post-industrial) and post-consumer cotton waste. Pre-consumer waste comes from any excess material produced during the production of yarn, fabrics and textile products, e.g. selvage from weaving and fabric from factory cutting rooms. Post-consumer waste comes from discarded textile products, e.g. used apparel and home textiles. During the recycling process, the cotton waste is first sorted by type and color and then processed through stripping machines that first breaks the yarns and fabric into smaller pieces before pulling them apart into fiber. The mix is carded several times in order to clean and mix the fibers before they are spun into new yarns. The resulting staple fiber is of shorter length compared to the original fiber length, meaning it is more difficult to spin. Recycled cotton is therefore often blended with virgin cotton fibers to improve yarn strengths. Commonly, not more than 30% recycled cotton content is used in the finished yarn or fabric.

The bleaching of the textile is done to bring the whiteness and finishing in the fabric where as dyeing for various shades. The art lies in colouring the textiles in such a manner that the colour may be fast or may not ordinarily be removed by such operations as washing, rubbing, sunlight etc. To which the textile are usually subjected. The art of dyeing is a branch of applied chemistry in which a severe use oAf both physical and chemical principle is made in order to bring about a permanent union between the dyes and the fibres.

Zinc edta is a derivative of ethylene diamine tetra acetic acid. Ethylene diamine tetra acetic acid is a sequestering, chelating agent. EDTA is a synthetic amino acid. It is widely known as edta. It is a white powder. Edta acid is insoluble in water. It is also named as ethylene diamine tetra acetate. It is widely used to dissolve metallic impurities. There are various salts, derivatives of edta. EDTA is widely recognized as effective sequestering agent. Edta grabs metallic caution such as lead or calcium from the process and forms a stable compound that is then excreted from the system. The stability of this bond is vital to get the success in removing the inorganic impurities out of the system. If the bond is weak, other chemicals can break this bond to form their own compounds.

Gypsum Plaster Boards are contructional sheets composed of concined Gypsum with about 15% fibre. Its outstanding contributes are fire resistance, dimentional stability, easy workability and low cost fibres are added to provide crack resistance and for fire resistance water repellent chemicals may be added to the board core. The various sources of gypsum in India when developed will yield in addition to high grade gypsum. According to the present knowledge the latter has prospect of economic use as building materials, namely plaster, plaster boards and block. Gypsum plaster boards can be used as covering for walls ceilings and partition in normally by environments and under controlled conditions of humidity and temperature in buildings.
